Two Cute Bears Together Forever

As promised - here's the full photo of my Valentine's Day Class card.  Sorry for the long wait, we have been having computer problems for about a month & a week ago our modem just died.  Amazing how important the computer has become to me, I think I've missed it more than my son has.

I love Punch Art & Stampin' Up punches are perfect for creating many different works of art.     This card uses the following circle punches: 1 3/8", 1 1/4", 1/2" & the retired 1/4", plus the large & small ovals for the bears noses.  The ribbon is the beautiful Real Red Polka Dot ribbon available in the Summer Mini until the 31st March.

I hope to be back blogging again soon, this post has been done at my friend Robyn's place.

Added Monday 1st February - I didn't have this info with me when I posted my two bears card a few days.  This card was inspired by the very talented Laura Lipe, I fell in love with her polor Bear Christmas card & thought it would make a lovely Valentine's Day card.

I've just discovered the newest challenge blog which is a down under one 2nd challenge is to Just Add ...a heart - so do check out the other great entries at Just Add Ink

Just a Taste

.
A little look at some of the projects we'll be making at my very first class this coming Saturday, 23rd January here in Te Atau Peninsula.  There are still a couple of spaces available, so if you're wanting a fun break from the kids (during the school holidays), come & join us.  580 Te Atatu Road, Te Atatu Peninsula - Time: 2.15pm - 4.45pm - Cost $18.00 for 3 projects plus a free gift from me.

This very cute card has been cropped to approx half its actual size

The photo doesn't do this chocolate rose justice, it looks much better IRL.  We will be making three of these with a small matching gift card.

Receive a Free Gift

..
Everyone attending my first Stamp Class on Saturday 23rd January will receive a cute little gift from me.  My very first class is Valentine's Day themed, as 14th February is fast approaching. We will be making 2 cards, plus learning how to make chocolate roses from Hersey's Kisses.  I will be showing you that with a little tweaking & change of stamps & colours how easy it is to change my Valentine's Day cards to suit almost any other occasion - very useful if Valentines is not your thing.

All classes are at the Te Atatu Peninsula Community House
580 Te Atatu Road, Te Atatu Peninsula.

okay just tried to post a photo but it's not happening at the moment, will need to get my technical support person to help, but he's still in bed asleep, should have photos later today.  okay I've received another lesson on how the camera works etc, plus I've been playing with photo editing on my computer, we should have photos now.

These are the cute little gift cards I made for the sale.a.bration swap.  I've used a wonderfully cute & useful stamp set called Whimsical Words this set has six word stamps, that can be used for almost any occasion.  I made them with Stampin' Up's textured cardstock, which is fabulous to work with. But maybe because it's a different weight to Stampin' Up's other cardstock, you need to be careful how you adhere it, as it does not like being pulled apart if you make mistakes or want to change your mind while you're creating.  Apart from that I loved working with it & will be using it much more often.  I made my own embellishments for these cards using a couple of Stampin' Up's stamp sets, ribbon, dazzling diamonds, crystal effects & the Boho Blossoms punch.  I even made my own brads on the Tangerine Tango card - see yesterday's post for a close-up pic.

There are four stamp sets to choose, during sale.a.bration from January 25th - March 31st.  They are free for all orders over $120.00 & you can collect as many as you'd like, for each $120.00 you spend.  IMO this years sale.a.bration stamp sets are fantastic & I'm itching to get my hands on the other three sets available.

Attend my Valentine's class on the 23rd January & you will be making a similar card to the ones in the photo, plus another full sized card with matching envelope, 3 chocolate roses & don't forget my free cute little gift also.

A Quick Look At What I've Been Doing

..
After a nice long break after the festivites of Christmas & New Year, I've finally started to create again - & it feels so good to be playing with ink, paper, stamps & glitter again.  Here's a quick peek of something I've been working on, it's for the lastest Creative Inkers team swap.  We have all chosen a different set that will be free to anyone spending $120.00 during sale.a.bration.

Sorry it's not a great photo, I need to get Jono to show me how to turn the flash off, he has already but I've forgotten.

These cute little flowers are on one of my swaps.  For my swaps I've chosen to use different stamps from the Whimsical Words stamp set, with each stamp I've used different coloured cardstock, inks & embellishments.  In the photo you can see one completed flower, made with the Boho Blossoms punch, Sahara Sand textured cardstock sponged with Tangerine Tango ink, Old Olive 1/4" grosgrain ribbon & Crystal Effects. On all the other flowers you can see the crystal effects is still drying, it looks quite opaque but dries to a fabulous hard, glossy finish.

Random Act of Kindness

I received a lovely surprise yesterday morning, a beautiful bunch of flowers from Brian & Joy.  They grow them in their garden here in West Auckland.  While I was thanking them & commenting on how beautiful they were, I found out they grow & show their Dahlias, I'm not surprised as they are some of the best looking Dahlias I've ever seen.  They were too beautiful not to share them with others, so I took a photo of them, aren't the colours just gorgeous?

my computer skills are growing slowly, & while clicking with the mouse & playing around with some buttons last night, I discovered I can alter my photos.  they can be cropped, rotated & quite a few other things beside.  wow! I have even more stuff to learn about now, but it's all good - in time I hope to be posting better photos than I have been.  I was able to crop this photo so you get the full benefit of the blooms & not the boring background.
